Non-emergency Call Procedure

Habersham County 911 receives on average 120,000 “non-emergency” calls per year. The time spent answering these calls takes away from them fielding calls for actual emergencies. They have asked the cities to try to help cut down on the number of “non-emergency” calls.

Examples of calls that they receive that are not considered to be emergencies include: road signs being knocked down, pot holes, opening city parks, water leaks, when do the Christmas lights at the park begin, how to rent the Community House, dates and times for special events, how to pay a ticket online, how much is a Bond, does the fire department check smoke detectors, and questions about city ordinances.

If you have one of these questions we ask that you contact City Hall at 706-778-8585 Monday thru Friday from 8:00 to 5:00. After 5:00 and on the weekends we ask that you contact the Fire Department at 706-778-4343.
